On December 2, Hip-hop trendsetter Cassper Nyovest broke and set a lot of records when he successfully pulled off his Fill-up FNB Stadium concert.

While he didn’t really fill FNB stadium to capacity, with a target of 75 000, the local rapper managed to sell about 68 000 tickets. Cassper became the first local rapper to attract such big audiences at one of the biggest venues in the country. Judging from the visuals from last weekend’s show, it’s quite safe to say that Cassper’s Fill up FNB Stadium was a huge success and he can’t wait to do it all over again.

After three consecutive fil-up concerts, it’s only fair that he does a fourth one. So, Cassper Nyovest has now set his eyes on conquering Moses Mabhida stadium in Durban for next year’s offering. The rapper took to Twitter shortly after setting FNB stadium alight with his magic to share that he would take his next fill up installment to the coastal city.

Regardless of all inconveniences, thousands of fans showed up on Saturday night to pledge support for the pacesetter that is Cassper Nyovest. With only a few glitches like persistent rain and nagging fans who failed to buy tickets on time, the Mahikeng-born rapper gave it his best shot.

The cheapest ticket was R100, most expensive R500 and hospitality packages of up to R2 900. Cassper went from selling out all the golden circle tickets to bringing in a crowd large enough to literally fill out the stadium. In addition to filling the golden circle to capacity, by 21:00 the other seating areas had a significant amount of concertgoers. Besides, the number of people who were outside the arena and could not get in as gates were already closed can fill up a smaller venue on their own.

Fans were treated to Cassper’s old and latest hits including Tito Mboweni and Baby Girl. Also, other local stars took to the stage, including long-time friend Riky Rick, Black Motion and rapper Nadia Nakai to entertain fans during the show that had been dubbed as one of the greatest moments in the local hip-hop history.

Durban heavyweights DJ Tira and newcomers Distruction Boys, whose Qqom music kept fans warm were also on the star-studded line-up.

The stage design was lit, not that we were surprised. The incredible setup fulfilled the rapper’s promise to bring his A-game to the stage design. Apparently, the two giant lion figures on either side of the stage were Cassper Nyovest making good on his promise to bring Mufasa to the audience.
